Hide System Tray Icons in your Taskbar using Registry Editor (RegEdit)

Some people find hiding the system tray icons useless. But in some other way some desktop users find it useful for it looks clean and adds at least free space in you taskbar. Furthermore some administrators use this trick to make other users in thier internet cafe cannot control the programs running in the system tray like disallowing them to not kill the running anti-virus or softwares use for remote desktop like PC Anywhere and LogMeIn. So here's the steps:
  1. Open Registry Editor by typing "regedit" in the RUN command.
  2. Locate this in the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer
  3. Find the key(REG_DWORD) named NoTrayItemsDisplay
  4. Right click and choose Modify and be sure that the Value Data is set to zero(0) to make the system tray icons invisible in your taskbar while Value Data one(1) to make system tray icons visible.
  5. Restart you computer for the changes to take effect. Or if you want it to take effect immediately without restarting then follow these steps:
  6. Open Task Manager(pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE)
  7. Under process tab find Explorer.exe running process and then click End Process. If a message prompts if you are sure that you want to end the program then click Yes. (don't be shock that the taskbar will disappear)
  8. Now click File menu and choose New Task(RUN).
  9. Enter "explorer" in the text box and press OK. The taskbar will show again but without the visibility of the system icons.
That's it, go try...

speed up, tune up, boost then we're good to go - abz'
